EBO (Everything But Ordinary) - A start-up business specializing in hair and makeup, with the possibility of launching a cosmetics line.
The client envisioned the overall design to be instantly recognizable. Something that screamed 'luxury', 'sexy' and top-of-the-line service/product. I was asked to incorporate purple in their colour palette but to avoid too much vibrancy.
THE NEW LOGO
A capital 'B' emphasizes the conjunction in 'Everything But Ordinary'. The black swirls centers the 3 letters into alignment and creates an edgy and bold silhouette. The level of detail in this design allows for this logo to make a bold statement regardless of where it's placed.
A simple gold, thin frame completes the luxurious appearance of this business card. The swirls from the logo was used to create a print that carries throughout this entire project. It's transparency creates a contrast between the jet black backgroung, making the white text stand out even more.
Most beauty-related flyers and leaflets tend to incorporate images of makeup and tools to illustrate the message they are trying to send. The challenge was trying to move away from that cliche - as advised by the client.
I used a DL-sized flyer to avoid excessive and distracting content. As a result, I opted for a personal touch by using an image of the host, from a previous makeup photoshoot. A deep purple against gold stripes breaks away from the black and white font and background, giving the overall design more vibrance and appeal.
This box design is a concept I designed if the company were to advance into a cosmetics line. Highly inspired by the colour palette of the business card, this packaging screams elegance, simplicity and edge.
The deep purple used for the majority of this design allows a greater contrast between the black and gold packaging. I assembled the swirl from the logo together and curved it across the text to express a flow of femininity.
STORE PAPER BAG
This design is inspired by the box packaging. Simple in design, yet an expensive appearance.
This set of office stationery perfectly demonstrates the different design elements of this companies new brand identity.
